Vacation time

Well, it's almost vacation time for me, a few weeks in sunny Texas(what? It's sunnier than the UK at this time of year!) with my sweet hubby to be. Although I'm not planning on taking my laptop or having an internet connection, I do plan to take my trusty pen and paper to continue with a few more novel ideas ;)

So, I wish you a wonderful 3 weeks! Have fun and don't do anything I wouldn't do...

Excerpts and Erotica

I've just added a small blurb and excerpt for The Invitation to my website:

www.scarlettsanderson.com/

You can find the blurb on the main page of my site, and the excerpt in the Excerpts and Fantasies section. In the later section you can also find a free short erotic fantasy (this will be added to over the months). Once I started writing again a few years ago, erotica was my genre. Although never published these free shorts are a collection of some my...fantasies that slipped onto the pages ;)

My Halls are Decked...

Well, not quite. But it is getting to that time of year when once again it's time to drag out the holiday baubles, wrap the presents, make sure Aunt Mary doesn't sit next to Aunt Carol at the dining table...not unless you want cranberry sauce all over the nice, cream carpet.

Although that paragraph of wisdom may sound highly cynical, in reality I ADORE Christmas. It's the time of year when everything turns magical for me. The weather becomes crisper, the scents of cinnamon and spice fill the air, adults are allowed to become children again, even if it's just for one day. There really is something magically this time of year.

I hope you all take the time just to stare at the sky on a clear, frosty night in November and December and wish upon a star.

Editors

My critique partner once told me I was very defensive, even hostile, when anyone told me to change anything in my manuscripts. *raises hand and admits* Yes, I used to be. I used to be extremely hostile when she would get back to me with those immortal words "I think this needs changing".

Now onto my editor (wow, I have an editor! How surreal! lol), when she sent back A Conqueror's Destiny telling me to show rather than tell the love story, I scratched my head as to what MORE I could add. All I have to say at this very moment is - THANK GOD FOR YOU, RILEE!

You see, my editor was right. There is so much more Cassandra and Hannibal have to tell me, and I missed a huge part of that out. She caught one of the glaring holes in the script, a hole that could make it that much more intense, heartbreaking.

So, I just wanted to say, Rilee, although we have only been working together for these two books, thank you immensely!
