Contracted for The Invitation

I received the very good news yesterday that my first novella, The Invitation, is to be contracted by The Wild Rose Press. I am ecstatic to say the least! It is such wonderful news to find that a publishing house actual want the work you’ve written.

Now all the legal jargon starts. Time to do some research on copyright laws etc etc. It’s the geek in me that means I have to stay informed ;)

The Invitation is a Christmas Faery Rose, so it should be hitting the e-book stands near in December. (I hope! lol)

Character Development

It's amazing where your characters go. I can honestly say with sincere conviction that mine never, and I do mean never, do what they are told. They never go in a straight line, or even in a remotely straight line. They never listen to where I want them to go. Instead they carve out their own path. They have a story they want told, not the story I want to tell.

Ahhh, to be on the receiving end of one of my latest characters wildest fantasies. With green piercing eyes, dark hair, and a buff body, he could play dominant to my submissive any day. And as I write that he is looking over my shoulder laughing that oh so seductive laugh...

Snow White Queen

The inspiration for my latest story, Snow White Queen, I got from hearing the lryics to the Evanescence song. It's dark, decadent, and perfect for what I need to write.

It's Friday Again!

Where did that week go?! It only seems like two minutes ago it was Jensen Ackles day ;) I've had an...interesting week to say the least. Although formally no writing, I have a lot of scenes running through my head that are dying to be written, and a very sensual new character who is itching to have his story told ;) Something wicked definitely this way comes...something devilish ;)

Jensen Ackles Day

Out of all the heros in my stories, none hold a special place in my heart as much as Raphael (I'm sure you will meet him and his...family...shortly ;) ). No one sums up Raphael as much as Jensen Ackles. As soon as I saw this man in Supernatural, he was my Raphael.

Okay, okay, you got me, I just think Jensen is a fine specimen of a man. Who can deny he's a great actor when they see such emotion on his chiselled face? Yep, Scarlett has a crush and that crush is Jensen! :D LOL Today I'm declaring Jensen Ackles day, so I guess that means it's time to curl up, switch on the tv and drool ;)

Finishing The Invitation

Well after much deliberation, and a stubborn heroine who couldn't decide what to do, The Invitation is finished. I'm very proud of where Gabriel and Evie finally decided to go in this story. Now *crosses fingers* I just hope the publisher likes it.

Time to move onto the next story. Something for Valentine's day. Something dark. Something BDSM. Something wicked this way comes... ;)

Inspiration for the day

Originally I conceived of The Invitation while watching The Labyrinth. Gabriel Longthorn was to be the epitome of Jareth, The Goblin King. Gabriel had other ideas. Where Jareth was fair of hair, Gabriel is dark. Where Jareth is cool and cold, Gabriel is warm. I think I will save my 'Jareth' for another story, but Jareth will always stay with me. What woman doesn't remember the first time she saw David Bowie in those tight breeches?
